I'm the child of Cuban immigrants who came to this country when they were young. Growing up in a Spanish-speaking household, with a lazy eye, I faced challenges in learning to read. Then around the 4th grade I read Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and BabySitters Club. Once books took over my life, I couldn't put them down. That's when I attempted my first story. I fell in love with creating fun, tension-filled characters in complex relationships. I began writing unique mystical worlds with epic arcs.
I grew up in South Florida. Enjoying the sunny weather and the year-long beach access. I attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with a B.A. in English Creative Writing, then received an M.A. Ed in Instructional Design and Technology. Currently, I'm a school librarian.
Stories with diverse backgrounds hold a special place in my heart because my family is mixed. I now live on the Treasure Coast of Florida with my husband, two children and two rescue Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mixes named Ivory and Ebony.
I love writing about the fantastical and pushing my imagination to the limit. My son asked me once why I write, and my answer was because it allows me to cope with my crazy. I like to explore themes like girl power, diversity, perseverance, self-growth and fighting against the odds. I write in the genres of romance, both light and dark, paranormal, contemporary romantasy, magical realism, and epic journeys. I've also started dabbling in Middle Grade contemporary fantasy.
Other than writing, I enjoy traveling and relaxing in front of serene landscapes with my family. Things I could not live without are fuzzy socks, mints, Coke Zero, and yoga capris.
